Flash snowfall hits Istanbul 

ISTANBUL  

Flash snowfall, which was expected for weeks, hit Istanbul on Jan. 24. The snowfall affected traffic in some parts of Istanbul.

A heavier snowfall affected other Marmara provinces, such as Bolu. 

Snowfall and fog, which were heavy around Bolu Mountain, caused a disruption of traffic. The combination of fog and snowfall that started on Jan. 23 reduced the visibility to 30 meters.
