Five killed as car crashes into oil transporter in Antalya

Five people were killed and one was injured when a car collided with a large truck transporting oil in the Mediterranean province of Antalya early on April 17.The car’s driver, Emrah Bülbül, reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed and lack of attention, crashing into the truck, which was waiting at a red light on the road between Antalya’s provincial center and Kemer district.
The truck, its cargo and the car all caught fire as a result of the collision. The five passengers in the car were killed when they failed to escape the fire while the truck driver was taken to hospital with injuries.
Firefighters extinguished the flames and removed the bodies of the victims from the scene.
The road was closed for five hours due to the accident. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
