Five arrested in prosecutor’s murder case in eastern Turkey

Five suspects have been arrested by a court in the eastern province of Malatya for their alleged links to the murder of a prosecutor in 2012.The five people arrested today were among seven people detained in the eastern province of Tunceli on Dec. 9 as part of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) case, the urban wing of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
The seven suspects were brought to Malatya, where a local court decided to release two of the detained suspects, and arrest the other five suspects.
The suspects’ alleged links to the murder of the Ovacık Public Prosecutor Murat Uzun, which took place on Sept. 19, 2012, will be investigated. Eight people were previously detained and six were arrested as part of the investigation into Uzun’s murder.
