Fisherman catches Kalashnikov rather than fish in Turkey’s Adana

ADANA
A fisherman in the southern province of Adana was surprised after he caught a Kalashnikov rather than a fish on March 14, Doğan News Agency has reported.

The amateur fisherman, Bahri Zeydanlı, lives in Adana’s Sinanpaşa neighborhood and went fishing at a river in the Seyhan district around noon.

However, he was shocked after he pulled a rusty Kalashnikov gun rather than a fish out of the river. The gun was rusted and broken into pieces as it had apparently been under water for a long time.

Zeydanlı informed the police and investigation teams arrived at the scene as the gun was taken to a criminal laboratory for ballistic examination. Police have opened an investigation to identify the origins of the gun and how it ended up in the river.

Four days ago, police also found a hand grenade abandoned in Seyhan, neutralizing the bomb after an investigation.
