First Full Art Prize to be announced

The Full Art Prize, which aims to open new pathways for young artists under the age of 40, will announce this year’s winner Nov. 7.

Supported by AR Company Group, the prize carries with it a monetary award of 25,000 Turkish Liras. The jury consists of art collectors, curators, art critics, artists and art directors, including critic Evrim Altuğ, artist Gülsün Karamustafa, director of Biennial Bige Örer, curator and director of SALT contemporary art venue Vasıf Kortun and CEO of Borusan Agah Uğur. In the final stages of the competition, a total of 10 finalists will compete to win the big prize. Pilot Contemporary Art Gallery has partnered with the competition to showcase finalists’ work. Thirteen semi-finalists were selected out of some 300 applications. Works from the semi-finalists can be voted on by the public through the website fullartprize.org. The semi-finalists include Alper Aydın, Aslı Çavuşoğlu, Burak Delier, Elmas Deniz, Işıl Eğrikavuk, Özgür Erkök, Mehmet Fahracı, Zeren Göktan, Borga Kantürk, Tayfun Serttaş, Cengiz Tekin, Serkan Taycan and Gözde Türkkan.

Among 300 people and 13 semi finalists the gala night will announce the winner at Hasköy Yarn Factor with a ceremony. The prize committee also prepared a book to contribute the collective memory of Turkish contemporary art scene. The book presents a large amount of content on the 13 semi-finalists’ five years works. There are writings from Evrim Altuğ, Öykü Özsoy, Zeynep Öz, Özge Ersoy and Azra Tüzünoğlu.
