ISTANBUL - Anatolia News Agency
Çalık Holding, a local conglomerate based in Istanbul, is happy with offers for its media estates on sale, broadcaster ATV television and daily Sabah, said Chairman Ahmet Çalık.Çalık’s media estates expanded with new television and radio channels, as well as improvements in the quality of publication and broadcasting, Çalık said, adding that this in turn led to partnership offers as the value of the Turkuvaz Medya, Çalık Gorup’s media subsidiary, increased. Goldman Sachs, an American investment bank, has been tasked with evaluating the partnership offers, Çalık said.
The holding kept on growing despite global economic and financial problems, Çalık said.
“Despite the global situation, the size of the holding’s assets has grown about 20 percent. More importantly, the total turnover of the holding has grown nearly 50 percent,” he said.
