Fifth Çukurova Book Fair to kick off

The fair, will be organized with the partnership of the TÜYAP Adana Fair, Turkish Publishing and Adana Municipality, will host 200 publishing houses this year.
The Adana Çukurova Book Fair will open its doors once again for t lovers, writers and critics between Jan. 10 and 15.The fair will take place at the TÜYAP Adana International Fair and Congress Center, the fair’s manager, Bülent Yamaç, recently told Anatolia news agency.
The fair, which will be organized with the partnership of the TÜYAP Adana Fair and Turkish Publishing, Adana Municipality and the Altın Koza Film Festival, will host 200 publishing houses.
“There will be panels, discussions, poetry readings and children activities at the fair,” said Yamaç, adding that there would be a total of 50 cultural events during the fair week in Adana.
A total of 300 writers will come to Adana for the event, many of whom will also meet with their readers.
“Some of the figures who will visit Adana are Can Dündar, Zeynep Oral, Nasuh Mahruki, Behçet Çelik, Enver Aysever, Pakize Özcan, Şükrü Erbaş, Nilüfer Kuyaş, Nazlı Eray and Nermin Bezmen,” said Yamaç.
The fair will be open for six days. Noting that they greatly value meetings between readers and writers, Yamaç said: “We will start with the meetings. Writers will meet with their readers and share their experiences.” Influential Turkish poet Haydar Ergülen will meet with his readers on Jan. 11 while Gükten Dayıoğlu will hold a similar meeting the day after.
