Festival on Wheels visits Sinop

The 19th Festival on Wheels commemorated late actor Tuncel Kurtiz.
The 19th Festival on Wheels, which hit the road on Nov. 27 in the Aegean district of Edremit before moving to Ankara between Nov. 29 and Dec. 6, visited the northern province of Sinop over the weekend.The opening of the festival was organized at the Public Education Center with the participation of Sinop Gov. Yavuz Selim Köşger, who said cinema was very important to the people of Sinop. “Some things which are ordinary for some people might be extraordinary for us. Cinema events are ordinary in big cities but are very important for us. We want to thank everyone who contributed to the organization of this event.”
Following the ceremony, Onur Ünlü’s film “Sen Aydınlatırsın Geceyi” (Thou Gild’st the Even), starring Ali Atay and Demet Edgar, was screened. The festival, which was dedicated this year to late actor Tuncel Kurtiz and brought audiences a pick of the latest award-winning films from leading international festivals such as Berlin, Cannes and Sundance, will end today.
