Fenerbahçe narrowly failed to become the first-ever Turkish winner of European basketball’s premier club competition, the Euroleague, after it fell in overtime on May 15 to Russian giants CSKA Moscow in the Final Four final in Berlin.

CSKA took the match 101-96 in overtime after the Yellow Canaries, who had seen off Real Madrid to qualify for the Final Four, staged an impressive comeback to notch the match at 83-83 to send the contest to an extra frame at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

CSKA Moscow guard Nando De Colo led all scorers with 22 points, while teammate Milos Teodosic tallied 19 points.

The Russian team’s center Kyle Hines scored 15 points.

Fenerbahçe guard Bobby Dixon poured in 17 points to lead the Canaries while forward Luigi Datome and centers Pero Antic and Ekpe Udoh each scored 16 points.

Russia’s Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar finished third in the tournament after beating Spain’s Laboral Kutxa 85-75.
