Fenerbahçe stays at the top of the Turkish Super League after dismissing Gaziantepspor 3-1 in tonight’s game at the Şükrü Saraçoğlu Stadium in Istanbul.

Emmanuel Emenike, who opened his scoring account for the Yellow Canaries in a dramatic fashion with a last-minute goal last week, continued his form netting a brace. Moussa Sow was also on target for a second consecutive victory after the goalless Trabzonspor drew before the international break.

The Nigerian striker opened the score with a perfectly executed header on a cross from Alper Potuk’s header in the 9th minute. His Senegalese partner in Fenerbahçe’s frontline, Sow, doubled it before the break leaving the visitors in the lurch.

But Fenerbahçe failing to find the third, Gaziantepspor reacted by reducing the score in the 75th minute when the Bosnian Semir Stilic chipped past Volkan Demirel an assist headed by Turgut Doğan Şahin.

Struggling since the start of season with financial woes, Gazaintepspor pushed for a second goal and even came close to equalizing the score in the 84th as Muhammet Demir pushed the ball inside the net. But his goal was canceled by the referee for being slightly offside.

It then only took two minutes for Fenerbahçe to definitely seal the game, as Salih Uçan robbed the ball from Gaziantepspor defenders surging into the area, leaving it to Emenike to score his second after improvising an exquisite faint.

Fenerbahçe now totals 22 points, six ahead of Beşiktaş, which will be playing on Oct. 26 against Akhisar Belediyespor. Galatasaray will visit the struggling Kayserispor on Oct. 27 and the much-anticipated Kasımpaşa - Trabzonspor showdown, out on the night of Oct. 28
