Fener salvages point with Dirk Kuyt goal

Fenerbahçe’s away-day woes continue as the Istanbul giant barely salvaged a draw against Kayserispor in the Spor Toto Super League on Dec. 2.

An 88th-minute header by Dutch superstar Dirk Kuyt canceled out the long-range effort by Bobo from five minutes earlier as the game at the Kayseri Kadir Has Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw.

The draw extended Fenerbahçe’s poor record in away matches this season. In its seven away matches, Fenerbahçe won just once and had five draws.

Fenerbahçe had a chance to level Galatasaray on points with a win, but the club slipped to the fourth spot instead, with 24 points.

Defending champion Galatasaray, who also had a 1-1 draw against Gaziantepspor over the weekend, still leads the league with 26 points, while Medical Park Antalyaspor also has 26 points to be placed second. Antalyaspor barely edged out southern rival Mersin İdman Yurdu with a late goal on Dec. 2 to return to winning ways after two weeks.

Beşiktaş is standing third with 25 points.
