Members of the Ukrainian activist group FEMEN were stopped by security forces earlier today when they tried to stage a nude protest at the Atatürk Airport as they left the country, Doğan news agency reported.

The women had been taken into custody following their nude protest in the historical Sultanahmet district of Istanbul when they resisted police intervention during their demonstration. They were taken to Atatürk Airport to leave the country following their deportation, where they noticed members of the press present.

FEMEN women then attempted several times to take their clothes off, but were stopped each time by security forces.

The Ukrainian activists left Istanbul today for home.
