Fatma Girik to be honored in Germany

STANBUL

Veteran actress Fatma Girik will be presented with the Honorary Award.

The 19th Turkey/Germany Film Festival will be held this year between March 13 and 23 this year, with Turkish actress Fatma Girik set to receive an honorary award at the event.

In addition to Girik, legendary German filmmaker Edgar Reitz will also receive an honorary award at the opening ceremony.

The festival will screen feature films, short films and documentaries that boost cultural dialogue between filmmakers, artists and audiences. The festival program will be announced in the coming days. 

The Turkey/Germany Film Festival, which was first organized in 1992 under the name Turkey Cinema Days, is the only film festival screening films about the cinema of the two countries along with international selective committees and competitions. 

The festival is considered one of the leading festivals in Germany.
