Boumeester, 49, "has been feeling down of late, and police are growing increasingly concerned for his safety," the Metropolitan Police said in a statement posted on the department’s Web site late Wednesday.Royal Bank of Scotland Group, Banco Santander and Fortis bought Amsterdam-based ABN Amro in 2007 for about 72 billion euros ($100 billion) in the world’s biggest banking takeover.
Boumeester, who lives in London’s Belgravia district, left ABN Amro in March 2008. He went to work for the bank in 1987 and joined the management board in 2006. Boumeester became CFOin August 2007 after the resignation of Hugh Scott-Barrett.
