Euro most lucrative investment instrument last month

The euro surpassed other tools in February.
The euro became the most lucrative instrument of financial investment in February, overtaking the Istanbul Stock Exchange (İMKB), whose surge has halted in recent months.The euro yielded the highest monthly real profit, with rates of 0.76 percent based on the consumer price index, according to figures provided by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK).
Dollar and deposit-interest investors also gained slightly, as their monthly real profit rates were 0.22 and 0.16 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile investors of stock exchange and gold were disappointed, losing 5.13 and 2.42 percent, respectively.
On an annual basis, maximum annual real profit was created by stock exchange investors, rising 21.55 percent.
Stock exchange loses
After shattering records by hitting an all-time high level of 86,000, the stock exchange has faced a steep fall to below 76,000 in a period of less than a month due to the continuing volatility of the market in light of risks.
Currently, the stock exchange posts a moderate outlook.
The İMKB was also the most lucrative investment instrument in 2012, granting 37 percent to investors on an inflation-adjusted basis.
Euro investors, however, faced disappointment last year after losing 10.3 percent against inflation.
