EU Award for project on Istanbul

The European Union Cultural Heritage jury special award, which was given to the Istanbul Cultural Inventory Project by the European Commission and Europa Nostra, was presented on July 10 to Istanbul Governor Hüseyin Avni Mutlu at a ceremony held at the Istanbul Culture and Tourism Directorate.Mutlu said Istanbul, as the capital of many civilizations, held a very special place in the world. He added that the Istanbul Cultural Inventory Project, which was initiated in 2010, should be translated into other languages for its continuation.
“All information about the city is gathered in this inventory and it makes the city stronger. This inventory will contribute to Istanbul being listed as one of the top five tourism countries in the world in 2023,” he said. At the ceremony, the coordinator of the project, Hakan Tanrıöver also provided information.
