Erdoğan hosts Senegal's Faye for talks in Ankara
ANKARA
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Thursday welcomed his Senegalese counterpart Bassirou Diomaye Faye to Ankara for discussions aimed at bolstering bilateral relations.
Faye, 44, Senegal's youngest-ever president, was received with an official ceremony before engaging in a series of bilateral and inter-delegation meetings. The welcoming ceremony was attended by key Turkish officials, including Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, and Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, among others.
The two leaders are expected to sign several agreements and hold a joint press conference later in the day. Erdoğan will also host an official dinner in honor of his Senegalese counterpart.
This visit continues the diplomatic momentum between the two nations, following Erdoğan's hosting of Faye's predecessor, Macky Sall, in December 2022.
