Entertainment retailer D&R expands to web with buyouts

A store of Doğan Holding’s entertainment retail arm, D&R which announced it acquired online bookseller Idefix and online book retailer Prefix.

Music and book store D&R, Doğan Holding’s subsidiary, has acquired the online sale platforms Idefix and Prefix for 11.5 million Turkish Liras. 

D&R, active in entertainment retail, has purchased all shares of Elektronik Bilgi İletişim Hizmetleri, which owned Idefix and Prefix, to enlarge the D&R online sale store.

Idefix, an online bookseller, and Prefix, an online book retailer, posted a net profit worth 24 million liras last year. D&R entered the online retail sales field by buying Prefix.

This acquisition will reinforce D&R in the online sales field, said Yahya Üzdiyen, CEO of Doğan Holding, noting that they aimed to benefit from the growing opportunities in the retail sector that are offered by digital channels.

D&R has 128 stores in 26 provinces in Turkey with more than 100,000 types of products.
