Egeran hosts Navarro’s solo show
ISTANBUL
Egeran Gallery is presenting new and recent works by Ivan Navarro in his first solo exhibition in Turkey, titled “Light at the end of the Tunnel.” The exhibition features three wall-works alongside three freestanding sculptures, including the installation “Resistance” that was part of his 2009 Venice Biennial exhibition. The artist will be present for the opening of the exhibition on Nov. 22, and will participate in “Little Battle,” a one-night performance and event at Near East, an events and publishing house in Dolapdere, Istanbul. Born and educated in Chile, Navarro has lived and worked in the United States since 1997. His body of work straddles two visual cultures; he engages with the concerns and subjects of his homeland while simultaneously participating in a dialogue with American art movements. Address: Kemankeş, Tophane İskele Cad. No. 12 Beyoğlu
