Earthquake causes minor damage in Turkey's east

A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck the province of Malatya in eastern Turkey today. 

The quake hit at 13:00 pm at a depth of 3.1 kilometers near Çukurkaya village in Darende province. 

The shallow depth of the quake caused it to be felt at great effect in central Malatya, causing panic in the city, reports said. 

Cracks appeared on the houses in Çukurkaya village, no injuries were reported.
