Drugs worth 12 million liras seized in Istanbul operation

Police raided a suspected house that was used as a drug factory, seizing various kinds of drugs worth 12 million Turkish Liras in an operation on Dec. 15, Doğan News Agency has reported.

Drug enforcement police in Istanbul launched surveillance of the house in the Eyüp district of Istanbul after becoming suspicious.

Istanbul police seized around 78 kilograms of ecstasy, 5 kilograms of cocaine, 39 kilograms of marijuana, three precision balances, two Kalashnikovs and a pistol gun. 

Four suspects were detained in the raid, including the house’s owner, who were taken to a police station for their testimonies. A police inquiry revealed that the drugs that were seized had a street value of around 12 million Turkish Liras. 

The suspects were later arrested.
