Doğançay’s work in Metropolitan Museum of Art

According to a statement made by the Doğançay Museum, Doğançay is the first Turkish artist whose work has been included in the permanent collection of the museum.
Doğançay’s works are displayed in 70 museums around the world, including the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Victoria & Albert Museum and the British Museum in London, the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, the Moderna Museet in Stockholm and the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
Metropolitan Museum of Art’s curator Dr. Shelia R. Canby said, “The iconic work of Turkey’s most important painter adds a very big value to the museum’s collection,” in a statement.
