Davutoğlu returns gifts to prime ministry after leaving post

Former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has returned the gifts he received during his foreign and domestic trips after leaving his post, according to a written statement by his office.The gifts he and his family received during his prime ministry in the 62nd, 63rd and 64th terms of government were recorded with their photos also taken.
All of the presents received by Davutoğlu and his family are under protection at the prime ministry, the statement read.
Some of the gifts are exhibited in the Çankaya Presidential Mansion in Ankara in order for visitors to see.
Other valuable presents were recorded in the inventory of the prime ministry after their values were established by a commission assigned by the Ankara Directorate of Tax Administration in the framework of relevant regulations.
Davutoğlu announced his decision to leave the chairmanship of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and prime ministry seat on May 5 before being replaced by Binali Yıldırım at a party congress on May 22.
