Craftsmen want repair of damage

The head of the Confederation of Turkish Craftsmen and Tradesmen (TESK) Bendevi Palandöken held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Beşir Atalay, where he explained the problems affecting 2.5 million stemming from the unrest.

Palandöken suggested that the government should offer a “zero-interest loan,” to those concerned like it did for the craftsmen of Hatay who suffered due to the Reyhanlı attack, during a press conference after the meeting yesterday. Atalay is set to discuss this proposal with related members of the Cabinet in the afternoon.

The protests have spread across the country and both employees are hurt and products saw damage, he said. The flow of cash inside the country was also hampered, he said. Atalay said the issue would be discussed at the Cabinet, he added.
