A total of 17 suspects were detained following the attacks. The Turkish government had publically accused groups connected with the Syrian intelligence for the bombings.
Media restriction lifted
Meanwhile, a media limitation imposed by a local prosecutor following the bombings was lifted by a court over complaints.
Following the demand of the Reyhanlı public prosecutor, a written statement from RTÜK declared that the Reyhanlı Court of Peace had ruled that all kinds of audio, written and visual publications about the scenes of incidents after the blasts were banned, including content and images of the injured and the dead.
The decision had sparked controversy as many journalists and media organizations saw it as an attempt to limit press freedom.
