Convicted murderer kills Azeri woman after abusing daughter

KONYA

A convicted murderer has killed an Azeri woman in Turkey’s Central Anatolian province of Konya, hours after sexually assaulting her daughter, local media reported on July 26.

According to police sources speaking to Demirören News Agency, the 46-year-old suspect, identified only as Rahmi A., sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl at her house in Konya’s Karatay district late on July 23.

The girl went to the police by herself, and her mother Saire Yükselir came after being notified by the police.

Yükselir, 50, reportedly went to the man’s office the following day.

As their argument turned into a fight, the police was called to the scene, but left after both sides said they would not file criminal complaints. Hours after the incident, however, Rahmi A. shot the woman eight times and fled.

Eyewitnesses said Yükselir, who had an affair with the suspect who was married, told them he had shot her “due to debt and a credit issue,” minutes before she died at the scene.

Rahim A. was involved in an ongoing divorce process and had served 12 years in prison for killing two people.
