Colorectal symposium to be held in Istanbul

ISTANBUL
In collaboration with Liv Hospital and renowned cancer center New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering, Istanbul will host a two-day symposium on colorectal cancer, the disease of our times, on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. An A to Z of colon and rectal cancer will be under the microscope at the symposium titled “Personalized Approaches to Colorectal Cancer Patient.”

Leading Turkish and international experts will address the symposium on colorectal cancer treatment methods and the very latest advances in the field. Liv Hospital Medical Director and Specialist in General Surgery Professor Oktar Asoğlu will demonstrate robotic surgery techniques and applications during real-time surgery performed on a colorectal cancer patient that will be broadcast live to the conference hall by means of a special imaging system.

The symposium will take place in two phases, one open to the public and one aimed at doctors. The public session, entitled “Protect Your Colon against the Cancer Earthquake,” is scheduled between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 31 at the Liv Hospital Conference Center. Doctors will brief attendees on the latest developments and treatment methods for colorectal cancers. There will then be a Q&A session. 

The “Personalized Approaches to Colorectal Cancer Patients” session for doctors will take place on Jan. 31st Jan and Feb. 1 at Istanbul Technical University’s Süleyman Demirel Congress Center. World famous physicians will participate as guest speakers, briefing attendees on colon and rectal cancer developments and treatment methods during live surgical case studies.
