A deadly incident in which a street in Ankara collapsed last week due to unfinished metro work is to “be expected” and could have happened anywhere in the world, Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yıldırım said today."Events like this are expected. We work underground. Electricity circuits, sewer lines, all kinds of networks are present. For that reason, though we take precautions, events like these should be expected," Yıldırım was quoted as saying by daily Hürriyet.
“This happens around the world, too," Yıldırım said. "It would be wrong to pass judgments right now without conducting a proper investigation."
