Outstanding works from Baksı Museum’s first Children’s Art festival will be displayed at the Contemporary Art Fair in Istanbul, which this year is opening a range of new events aimed at children. Baksı Museum founder Hüsamettin Koçan said there would be works by a total of 15 children on display and that children were very excited about the event. The initiative is taking place with the support of Yıldız Holding, Koçan said and added, “The children will have the opportunity to visit an international art fair and see all the works. They will also work at the children’s ateliers.” Noting that new relations would be forged through the event, he said they would also prepare a new workshop space for children in Baksı, in northwestern Bayburt. Baksı Culture and Arts foundation has launched many new events this year, he said, adding, “We have worked for the youth and created workshops for children.”
“We have held a painting competition in Bayburt among the schools. There are 15 works that have been awarded and we have decided to exhibit them here at the fair,” said Koçan. The students have also received grants, he added. “We aim to make this event a talent academy,” he said.
