Children to sing for peace in Istanbul

ISTANBUL
The Music for Peace Foundation, which aims at providing musical education for as many children as possible and removing handicaps from participating in the arts, will celebrate its decennial this year. The foundation, which has so far changed the lives of nearly 5,000 children with the power of music, will celebrate its anniversary with a special concert on Nov. 15 at Zorlu PSM.

The orchestras of the foundation, Vivaldi (age 7-12), Mozart (age 10-18) and Beethoven (age 14-19) will be conducted by five different conductors at the concert, including the art director of the foundation, Sascha Goetzel, permanent chief Samuel Matus, teacher Özmen Genç, orchestra member and trainer Nihan Türkyılmaz (viola) and Ebru Kara (violin).

The guest orchestra of the concert will be the Eskişehir Tepebaşı Children’s Symphony Orchestra, a similar organization to the Music for Peace Foundation. The concert will bring together 300 children on the same stage and present works from composers like Mozart, Vivaldi, Brahms and Strauss.

Tickets for the concert are available at Biletix. Revenues from ticket sales will be used by the foundation.
