Chamber polls next year

The Turkish chambers of commerce will go to the polls across the country in 2014, said Customs and Trade Minister Hayati Yazıcı yesterday.The election process includes over 3,000 professional chambers, the Turkish Tradesmen’s and Artisans’ Confederation (TESK) and over 1.5 million people will participate, a statement from the minister said.
“Elections will be held in a democratic environment of accountability. We are watching the process very closely,” the minister also said.
2014 is set to be a year of elections for Turkey, as it expects local elections in March and a presidential poll in August.
