Cemal Reşit Rey Hall's guitar days kick off

ISTANBUL

Grammy award winning guitarist David Russell will perform on May 22.

Istanbul’s Cemal Reşit Rey (CCR) Concert Hall will host international guitarists during the CRR Guitar Days event that starts today. In previous years, the event hosted acclaimed names of the guitar such as Paco De Lucia and Al Di Meola. Continuing until May 23, the event will also host a Classical Guitar Competition, for which Spanish guitarist Marco Socias will be a jury member.

The festival will start tonight with a concert from one of the greatest names of Latin guitar music, Ricardo Moyano, while Mexican guitarist Raul Olmos, the founder of the International Morelia Festival, will also share the stage with Ahmet Kanneci tonight at 8 p.m.  On May 22, Soner Egesel will take the stage at 6 p.m. and David Russell will appear on stage at 8 p.m.

The festival will close with a concert by CRR Symphony Orchestra to be accompanied by Sinan Erşahin and Marco Socias.
