Bus assistant detained for masturbating on passenger faces jail up to 11.5 years

Kocaeli’s Gebze district civil court received the indictment against suspect Gökhan G., who has been under arrest since May 27, two days after the incident occurred on an inter-city bus belonging to Metro Turizm.

In the indictment, G.G. is charged with molestation and immodest behavior.

The evidence that was presented to the court concerning the incident included a picture of semen from the seat that C.D.D. was sleeping in during the offense. 

According to the indictment, the bus boarded on a ferry at 5:30 a.m., 20 minutes before the boat departed.

C.D.D. was sleeping with her head facing the bus’s corridor, while G.G. was sitting in the seat behind her.

G.G. allegedly masturbated in the hallway without unfastening his belt, after which his semen fell on C.D.D.’s neck, face and sweater. The bus was dark at the time of the incident. 

After C.D.D. woke up, the bus assistant grabbed a bottle of water and a newspaper that he put on the next seat and claimed that water had been poured by mistake. The victim, however, screamed, alerting other passengers to the situation.

According to the indictment, the suspect did not plead guilty during an interrogation at the Eskihisar Gendermarie Station but later pleaded guilty at the Gebze Public Prosecutor’s Office. The suspect, however, added that he did not target the victim with his actions.
