Bulgarian economy posts 0.3 pct growth

Bulgaria’s economy expanded 0.3 percent in the second quarter of this year compared to the first three months, the national statistics office said Wednesday, raising preliminary data released last month.On August 14, it had put growth at 0.2 percent.
Compared to the same period of last year, gross domestic product (GDP) was up 0.5 percent during the three months ending June, it said. The government has forecasted 1.4 percent growth for the full year, while the European Union has been more cautious, predicting 0.5 percent.
In 2011, GDP growth was 1.7 percent compared to a year earlier.
