Brazilian woman caught in Istanbul airport with 51 cocaine capsules in her stomach

Turkish security forces have detained a Brazilian woman at Istanbul’s Atatürk airport with 51 capsules of cocaine in her stomach.
The 31-year-old woman, who was unidentified, was seen on security camera footage released on Aug. 2 while walking past the customs checkpoint at the airport on Aug. 27.
The woman, who came to Istanbul on a flight from Sao Paolo, was stopped by police.
Although there were nothing suspicious in her luggage, the police sent her to the hospital for an MR scan, which revealed she was carrying 600 grams of cocaine in her stomach.
A court arrested the woman, who has been transferred to a prison in Istanbul.
