Biletix to be put under microscope

Biletix distributes tickets to concerts, art events and matches.

Turkey’s Competition Board has launched a preliminary probe into Biletix, Turkey’s leading entertainment ticket distributor, according to an announcement published on the Competition Board’s website.

The statement stated Biletix might have engaged in unfair competition by signing exclusivity agreements with its customers for football matches and live music performances and concerts. These exclusivity agreements restricted other players from entering the market, according to the allegations brought against Biletix.

The Competition Board’s statement stated the probe was launched after compiling the necessary information and documentation regarding the claims.

The statement stressed, however, that the probe does not necessarily mean Biletix would receive a punitive penalty.
