Beşiktaş’s Anderson Talisca will transfer to Liverpool or Manchester United: Reports
ISTANBUL
Media speculations have been growing over Benfica’s prolific attacker Anderson Talisca’s next destination following statements by the coach of Istanbul’s Beşiktaş, where the Brazilian spent two years on loan.
Some media reports said he is about to fly to Liverpool, but others have highlighted a possible contract with its historic rival Manchester United.
Sports Illustrated said on May 20 that Talisca was “off to Liverpool” after Beşiktaş boss Şenol Güneş told press following the season closing game on May 19 that he could be “rival to Cenk Tosun next season.”
Tosun signed with Premier League’s Everton during the winter transfer window.
“He [Talisca] was about to leave last winter,” Syksport quoted Güneş as saying.
Talisca had scored four goals in eight Champions League appearances in the past season.
He scored 18 goals for Beşiktaş last season with an opener against Sivasspor on May 18 at home, before waving goodbye to fans.
Güneş “has revealed that the Turkish outfit won’t be signing Anderson Talisca from Benfica, and hinted that the 24-year-old could already have a deal in place with Liverpool,” said the official website of the Merseyside club.
However, O Jogo, a Portuguese outlet, said he would sign with Manchester United.
The Red Devils “have tabled a 35 million sterling bid for Anderson Talisca,” the British The Sun newspaper also said, citing various reports.
