At least 22 PKK militants killed in air operations in northern Iraq

At least 22 outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants were killed in an air operation conducted in the Kandil region in northern Iraq on June 5.

Turkish warplanes conducted an air operation in the Kandil region in northern Iraq on June 5 upon received intelligence. At least 22 PKK militants were killed in the operation.

In addition, Turkish warplanes hit PKK targets in Kandil and a rural area of the Lice district in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır on June 7.

Turkish warplanes hit nine PKK targets, including shelters and sanctuaries, in the Kandil region in northern Iraq on June 7 between 11:59 p.m. and 12:20 a.m., according to security sources.

Meanwhile, another four PKK targets were also destroyed in a separate air operation conducted in a rural area of Lice on June 7 between 11:41 a.m. and 12:27 a.m.

The warplanes safely returned to their bases following the operations.
