ANKARA
Turkish defense contractor Aselsan announced a $413.27 million deal with the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM) on Dec. 29, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
The agreement is for a short-range, low-altitude aerial defense system.
“A short range/low altitude defense system agreement … has been signed between ASELSAN and the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries,” Aselsan said in a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).
“Within the context of the agreement, the deliveries will be completed between the years 2019-2022,” it added.
The company, established in 1975, mainly focuses on supplying the Turkish Armed Forces but has grown to provide systems to foreign clients.
