Arrested Van mayor suspended from job

Van Mayor Bekir Kaya has been suspended from his position by Turkey's Interior Ministry after he was arrested in the ongoing Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) probe on charges of being a member of a terrorist organization, daily Hürriyet reported today.
Kaya was detained during the operations on June 7 and arrested along with the Peace and Democracy Party’s (BDP) Van Provincial Head Cüneyt Caniş and İhsan Güler on June 11.
