Turkey condemns Armenian attack on Nakhchivan

ANKARA

Turkey has condemned Armenian forces, stationed in the territory of the occupied Gubadli region, for attacking the territory of the Ordubad region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

“It is seen that Armenia is getting more aggressive day by day due to the defeats it has received in the occupied territories. The attack on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which has our common border, is a new and dangerous example of the effort to spread the conflict beyond the Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia. Armenia should give up these dangerous provocations,” said a written statement by the Foreign Ministry.

Armenia commits war crimes by attacking civilians, violating the humanitarian ceasefire, and now attempts to take the conflict to other dimensions, said the ministry, stressing that Armenia should calculate well the consequences of these “aggressive” actions.

Ankara noted that Turkey stands by Azerbaijan.
