Aquaculture mission set to attend largest sector event

Turkey’s Seafood Promotion Committee is planning to attend the largest aquaculture fair, the European Seafood Exposition, in Brussels, Belgium April 24 to 26.“As part of the Seafood Promotion Committee we have attended fairs in six different countries to promote our products,” said Seafood Promotion Committee Executive Board Director Melih İşliel. İşliel said this was the second time that the group was attending the aquaculture fair and that they planned to offer Turkish sea bass and other local Turkish fish at the fair.
“As a sector we have witnessed a 14 percent increase in exports in the first quarter of 2012, reaching $125.5 million, and target $500 million by the end of 2012,” said Sinan Kızıltan, the head of the Turkish Livestock and Fishery Products Exporters’ Association, in a written statement.
