Ankara warns France of worsening relations

Turkey’s ambassador to Paris Tahsin Burcuoğlu warned Socialist senators in France the country will not be able to work with Turkey on projects such as the nuclear power plant construction initiative costing $10 to 20 million and Turkey would cut all diplomatic and political ties for good if the genocide bill passes though the French Senate, daily Hürriyet reported yesterday. “All options are on the table, and we are not ignoring any possibility,” Burcuoğlu told senators when asked what kind of sanctions Turkey might impose, Anatolia news agency reported yesterday. Burcuoğlu said France itself had reservations about presenting the resolution as a European Union frame law. The ambassador said the ruling People’s Movement Union prepared the resolution and it was therefore a resolution brought up by the government. Burcuoğlu warned the senators not to be a tool for harming Turkish-French relations.
