Ankara, Erzurum to see movies of Filmekimi fest after Istanbul

The Istanbul leg of IKSV’s Filmekimi program has ended and the festival is currently heading to Ankara and Erzurum. Tickets for screenings in Ankara and Erzurum are now available through Biletix and at movie theaters hosting Filmekimi films.

The Filmekimi program in Ankara and Erzurum will include Emin Alper’s “Tepenin Ardı” (Beyond the Hill), which won the Golden Tulip in the National Competition of the Istanbul Film Festival in April and “Be Deng” (Silent) by L. Rezan Yeşilbaş, winner of the Palm d’Or for short films at Cannes.

In its 11th year, Filmekimi has brought a wide selection of award-winning films and the latest works by master filmmakers to several Turkish cities.

This year 39 films that were screened and honored at prestigious festivals around the world are being shown at the 11th edition of Filmekimi. This year Filmekimi is reaching beyond Istanbul and bringing the best and the most recent examples of movies to eight different cities in Turkey. A special selection, including some films shown at the 31st Istanbul Film Festival in April, will be presented in Ankara, Erzurum, Diyarbakır and Gaziantep this year. Also, there will be free screenings in Van and Batman. Last year the project showed films in five cities.
