Ankara, Baku sign deal on agriculture

Turkish Agriculture Minister Mehdi Eker met with his Azeri counterpart Ismat Abbasov in Baku June 30. The two ministers signed a cooperation deal in plant conservation and quarantine areas.Speaking at the signing ceremony, Eker said Turkey and Azerbaijan had high level relations in political, social, military and economic areas adding that there was room for coooperation in agriculture as well.
Eker said Turkey’s cooperation with Azerbaijan in agriculture was coordinated by Turkey’s international development agency TIKA, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization and the ministries of the two countries.
Eker later met with Azerbaijan’ Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
