Anadolu Efes handed first Euroleague defeat by German champions Brose Bamberg

Anadolu Efes tasted its first defeat in the Euroleague this season, after being edged 88-86 at the German champions Brose Bamberg’s hardwood on Nov. 1.
 
The Istanbul side was unable to maintain the seven-point lead following the break against their rivals led by the American guard Casey Jacobsen, who scored 21 points behind the three-point line with a blistering 70 percent record. Jacobsen finished the game with 23 points, well-assisted by his Slovak teammate Gavel Anton who added 17 points for the Germans. 
 
Dusco Savanovic was once again the top scorer for the Blues with 17 points. Jamon Gordon and Scotty Hopson netted 14 points each.
 
After two victories in two games, Efes dropped to 2-1 in Group B leaded by Real Madrid, which destroyed Emporio Armani Milan 93-74. Brose Bamberg is third with also a 2-1 record. The Istanbul side will host the Lithuanians Zalgiris Kaunas next week.
 
Elsewhere Panathinaikos brought a 90-86 win from Belgrade against Crvena Zvezda Telekom, Polish minnows Stelmet Zielona Gora defeated 73-65 a disappointing Montepaschi Siena and Maccabi Electra knocked out Lokomotiv Kuban 73-58.
