An art break for mothers at Istanbul Modern

On Mother’s Day, mothers can take a complimentary guided exhibition tour in Istanbul Modern and watch the film “Mother and Child” at the Istanbul Modern Cinema, while children design gifts for their mothers in the workshops, alone or with their fathers. Workshops and guided tours for the program will be in Turkish, and “Mother and Child” will be shown in English with Turkish subtitles. Directed by Rodrigo García and starring Naomi Watts, Annette Bening, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L. Jackson, “Mother and Child” is a drama centered around three women: A 50-year-old woman, the daughter she gave up for adoption 35 years ago, and an African American woman looking to adopt a child of her own.
