Alleged killer of Russian jet pilot pens letter to Russia from prison

Alparslan Çelik wrote that he was ready to provide any kind of footage and information over  the killing of Russian pilot Oleg Peshkov, urging peace and dialogue in a letter sent to the Russian foreign ministry spokesperson Maria Zaharova.

"Dialogue is the most important one. It is definitely not important how it would be opened. I am opening it first. Opening a dialogue is the most important one," Çelik wrote in the letter shared by one of his friends on Twitter, according to reports on Russian media.

Çelik also wrote about his impressions on the clashes in the Turkmen region in Syria and their problems in the letter along with the significance of relations between Russia and Turkey.

A local court ruled for the arrest of Çelik on April 3 for violating a gun law following his detainment in the Aegean province of İzmir on March 30.

However, he claimed that the Russian pilot could have been killed by another group fighting alongside the Turkmens in Syria and he “definitely” didn’t shoot the pilot
