British trumpet soloist Alison Balsom will be on İşSanat stage on March 17.
The Scottish Ensemble, a group of outstanding string players from Scotland and across Europe, will take the stage at İşsanat together with soloist Alison Balsam on March 17.Drawing on a rich musical repertoire, the group enjoys a reputation for innovative programs and commissions. Confident performing in many musical genres, it has successfully collaborated with folk and electronic musicians.
Trumpet soloist Alison Balsom will join the Ensemble at İşsanat. Recently crowned ‘Female Artist of the Year’ for the second time at the Classic BRITs, Balsom has cemented an international reputation as one of classical music’s great ambassadors and is ranked among the most ground-breaking musicians on the international circuit today. Balsom’s distinctive sound first earned recognition when she was featured on the BBC’s “Radio 3 New Generation Artists” program. Honored with awards from Classic FM, Gramophone and Echo Klassik, among others, Balsom is increasingly active in commissioning new works for trumpet as well as transcribing and arranging existing works. Balsom will perform James MacMillan’s new work “Seraph” on March 17 in its Turkish debut, having also played its world premiere at Wigmore Hall, London in February 2011.
