ANKARA
The ruling party’s deputy parliamentary group leader will meet with the main opposition party tomorrow to seek a consensus on the approval of the 60 articles that have received the consensus from the four parties in the Constitution Conciliation Commission.Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) Nurettin Canikli will meet Akif Hamzaçebi, Engin Altay and Muharrem İnce, deputy parliamentary group leaders of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) in Parliament at 11:30 a.m., Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.
The two parties will debate whether the 60 articles of a new Constitution in the making that all parties have agreed on should be brought to Parliament for approval.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said last month the AKP was so “reconciliatory” that it was ready for the parliamentary adoption of the 60 articles, while the opposition was always creating excuses and was merely buying time.
